I meningar med konditionals typ 2, kan en pågående form av konditionalis i presens, användas.

Funktion
Den här formen är vanlig i meningar med konditionalis typ 2. Den uttrycker ett oavslutat eller pågående agerande eller tillstånd, som är är det sannolika resultatet av ett overkligt villkor.
Exempel
- I would be working in Italy if I spoke Italian. (But I don't speak Italian, so I am not working in Italy)
- She wouldn't be living with Jack if she lived with her parents. (But she is living with Jack and not with her parents).
- You wouldn't be smiling if you knew the truth. (But you are smiling because you don't know the truth.)
Present continuous conditional
Present continuous conditional är, när det gäller alla verb, sammansatt av tre delar:
would + be + presens particip
Presens particip bildas genom att man lägger till -ing efter verbets grundform.
